Why ATS matters
ATS systems rank your CV. They don't reject. But if you end up at position 150 of 180 applicants, the difference is none.
28 percent of Swedish companies already use AI in their recruitment processes, and another 37 percent plan to within three years. See the report from ManpowerGroup, 2024.
FAQ
What people usually wonder.
Does a robot or AI read my CV?
Yes, usually first. More than half of employers use some form of AI or ATS to read and rank CVs before a human sees them. For Fortune 500 companies the figure is nearly 98 percent. It doesn't mean your application is auto-rejected, but a badly formatted CV ends up at the bottom of the list.
What is an ATS and why does it matter?
ATS stands for Applicant Tracking System. It's software employers use to collect, read and sort applications. If your CV is full of columns, icons or images, the text gets garbled. Recruiters then see a messy version of your CV and you drop in the ranking.
Will my CV pass Teamtailor?
Yes. Teamtailor is the most-used ATS in Sweden since 2013 and used by tens of thousands of Swedish companies. Our ATS templates are tested to parse cleanly. Same for Greenhouse, Workday, Recman and other systems you'll meet when applying via a job portal.
Is it really completely free?
Yes. No accounts, no watermarks, no subscription, no ads. The site is built as a side project and given away free.
How long should a CV be?
In Sweden, one page is standard for junior and mid-level, two pages OK for senior roles with longer experience. Academic CVs with publications can be longer. Few recruiters read page three.
Should I put a photo on my CV?
In Sweden it's common but not required. A photo can make the CV more personal but also increases the risk of unconscious bias. If you're applying to large companies that use ATS, a photo can cause parsing errors. If you do include one, use our 'With photo' template.
Is my data saved anywhere?
Only in your browser (localStorage). We have no database and no server receiving your data. If you close the tab the data stays until you clear it yourself.
What are the most common ATS mistakes?
Images containing text (the CV becomes unreadable for the computer), multiple columns read in the wrong order, creative fonts that aren't supported, tables, and fancy icons instead of simple headings like 'Work experience'. Our ATS templates avoid all of this by default.
How do the templates differ?
ATS-friendly templates are single-column and minimal, guaranteed safe for automated systems. Creative templates are visually nicer but best when you know a human opens the CV first.
